Anti-trafficking of Women and Children

A Caritas Asia aims at contributing to the significant decline in numbers of Asian women and children being trafficked. The CA Member Organisatons based in South Asia and South East Asia are implementing the program.

Women and children are more vulnerable to human trafficking. They are often voiceless in the family and community; and the patriarchal nature of the Asian society also contributes to their vulnerability. Therefore, Caritas Asia focuses on vulnerable women and children. In many societies in Asia, when a woman is repatriated and rehabilitated in society, she is referred to as a ‘spoiled good’.
